Learn more about Facebook ads policy and its contents requirements
Unfortunately, it can happen that a Facebook ad stays “in review” for more time than it should. This situation is very frustrating for advertisers and it is likely to be a synonymous with a waste of money.
Even though some Facebook ads are approved within 30 minutes, the whole procedure takes on average less than 24 hours. Sometimes, it may takes two days or more, so, the question is “What to do if it happens to you?”
Firstly, you should check on Facebook Ads Policy about prohibited or risky contents; there might be several reasons why a Facebook ad could take much time to be approved.
You might have used sensitive or forbidden contents; you could have created a Facebook ad too personal, inconsistent, targeting the wrong audience or even with some spelling mistakes.
After verifying that your contents are Facebook Policies friendly, you should try to publish another version of your Facebook ad “in review”; as the approval is subjective and partly based on a human decision, you might have more chances this time.
If you don’t have any other version or if all the versions are stuck “in review”, contact the Facebook Support through the live chat (available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm) or via e-mails.
In the unfortunate event that nothing works, you can always appeal the decision. Facebook offers the opportunity to send a report directly to them if your ad has been pending “in review” for more than 24 hours.
